Obituary of Margaret Tartaglia

Margaret "Peggy" Tartaglia, age 73, of Gloversville passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2011. She was born in Whallonsburg, NY on February 1, 1938 the daughter of the late John and Emma Farrow Goot. On January 6, 1972 she married John Tartaglia and even after 39 years united in marriage he is quoted as saying he is "lucky to have the best and sweetest woman he ever met." Her kind heart, courage, compassion and grace will be missed by all who knew her. Peggy worked for many years at MCA in quality control. She retired from Ruben Gloves in 2000. She enjoyed her retirement and became an avid golfer. One of her greatest accomplishments on the golf course was her Hole in One in 1999. Off the golf course, her greatest accomplishment was her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy. Peggy is survived by her children: Jack Tartaglia Manuela of San Antonio, Texas, Ann Marie Black Robert of Amsterdam, Lisa Lott Gary of Gloversville, Wendy Noel Bob of Schodack, NY, Michele LaPorta Tim of Gloversville and Jolene Soliman Arseen of Alamo, CA, as well as 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include her sisters, Beatty Simonds and Pam Dorn both of Johnstown. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, John Goot and her grandson Brian Henry Noel. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Memorial Mass on Wednesday June 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Church, 149 South Main Street, Gloversville with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Peggy to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Mustang Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047 or the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
