Obituary of Brendon G. Kristie

Brendon G. Kristie, 42, of Feura Bush Road, Delmar, NY died suddenly on Monday, June 13, 2011 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 11, 1968 he was a lifelong area resident and a 1986 graduate of Amsterdam High School. Brendon went on to attend SUNY at Albany where he obtained his degree in Biology. He was currently employed as a senior security officer for the NYS Education Department in Albany. Survivors include his parents, Gerald and Mary Lou Hemstreet Kristie of Amsterdam, NY; his life partner, Jamie Lynn Weeks and their daughter, Olivia Weeks- Kristie at home; his brother, Brad Kristie of Amsterdam, NY; two sisters, Elizabeth Fecteau and her husband Scott of Portland, CT and Alison Ciarlante and her husband Paul of Salt Point, NY; and his two nephews, Nathan and Benjamin Fecteau. Additional survivors include his grandfather, Walter J. Kristie of South Carolina; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Brendon was a true motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed the freedom of the open road. He also volunteered for USCRI: helping refugee families in America as well as helping out at the annual Equinox dinner. Above all he enjoyed the simple things in life; target shooting, golfing and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed tossing a softball with his daughter Olivia. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Walter and Kathryn Hemstreet and Marion "Mary" Kristie and an infant sister, Amy Kathryn Kristie. Funeral services for Brendon will commence on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10 o'clock at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Committal services and interment will follow at St. Ann's Chapel at St. Casimir's Cemetery in Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home.
