Obituary of Barbara A. Haas

Mrs. Barbara A. Haas, 67 years old, of Francis Street, died Wednesday at Albany Medical Center. Mrs. Haas was born September 18, 1943, in Armonk, New York, a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Martin Mercer. She moved to the Cobleskill area where she resided until moving to Gloversville in 1985. Barbara then moved to Amsterdam in 1989 where she had since resided. She was of the Methodist faith. Barbara loved animals and was a member of the National Pet Sitters Association. She married Henry Haas on January 24, 1966 who survives. Barbara is also survived by her daughters; Kimberley Hemstreet of Ft. Johnson and Heather Haas and her fiancé, Thomas Oughton, of Mayfield, her grandchildren: Nathan and Vanessa Zapp, Grace Hemstreet and Thomas Oughton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will take place 10:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2011, at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
