Obituary of Robert G. Francisco

Mr. Robert G. Francisco, Sr., 82, of Tribes Hill passed away peacefully Wednesday June 15, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was born on April 27, 1929 in Amsterdam, NY the son of the late Raymond and Florence Stauber Francisco. Bob was a life time resident of the area and attended local schools. Upon graduation from Wilbur H. Lynch High School, he worked at the former Mohawk Carpet Mills in Amsterdam as a weaver until he went to work at Cranesville Block Company as a truck driver where he worked for over 40 years. He was a Teamster and Shop Steward for many years. He retired in 1991 at age 62. Robert was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors, especially working in his vegetable garden. Over the years he was very involved in his church the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church in which he was a former Deacon and Elder. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, and grand dogs. His loving family includes his wife Barbara L. Brown Francisco, whom he married on June 18, 1950. They shared a beautiful union of 61 years. Twins Robert G. Francisco Jr. and Bonnie Wallace both of Tribes Hill, and daughters Robin SimeoneAlfred of Amsterdam, Dawn Dziedzic of Sloatsburg, NY and Karen CorleyRobert of Plainfield, CT. Grandchildren, Tina Goldy Stroup, Charles Goldy, Alfred Simeone, Eric Simeone, Jessica Goodson, Tiffany Sampson, Ashleigh Simeone, Sarah Dziedzic, Erica Wallace, Jason Wallace, and Kelly Wallace; Great Grandchildren, Adeline, Oliver and Vivianna Stroup, Aaliyah and Sierra Goodson, Landon Sampson and Gavin France. He was predeceased by a brother Raymond Francisco. Funeral services for Robert will be on Saturday June 18, 2011 at 10:00A.M. at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam with Rev. Bonnie Orth presiding. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday June 17th, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church or to the Tribes Hill Volunteer Fire Department c/o the funeral home office.
