Obituary of Thomas J. Arndt

Broadalbin, NY?Thomas J. Arndt, 54, of Rolling Ridge Estates, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville, NY with his loving family at his side. Born February 21, 1957 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Delsia Hayes Arndt and the late Maurice Arndt. Tom was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1975. He was employed by Total Electric of Porters Corners, NY since 1998. Tom was a former member of the I.B.E.U. #166 and #236 from 1998 to 2001. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. Tom loved to sight see in Northern New York throughout the Adirondacks. He enjoyed long rides in the mountains and watching the leaves change during the fall. Tom is survived by his mother Delsia Arndt of Amsterdam; a son Andrew Amanda Arndt of Amsterdam; a daughter, Nicole Arndt Josh Rava of Hagaman; a brother Mark PatArndt of Harrisburg, NC; two sisters, Linda Ritchie of Broadalbin and Maureen Mike Schmidtmann of Amsterdam; three grandchildren Austin, Kessiera and Taylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 11 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Martin DeRose officiating. Burial will take place in Kings Cemetery in Northampton, NY. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Tom?s memory to the Cancer Medical Center at Dr. Castor's office c/o St. Mary?s Hospital, 446A Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 which provides medication for those that have no health insurance or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
