Obituary of Mary P. Simiele

Mary P. Simiele, 63, formerly of Perkins Street in Amsterdam passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was born February 25, 1948 in Amsterdam, NY, the daughter of the late Panfilo and Concetta Tortorella Giuliani. Mary was a life time resident of the area and attended local schools. She was employed as a manager by the Verizon Telephone Company for twenty years, retiring in 2003. She loved her pets, and enjoyed their company. She also enjoyed gardening and going shopping. Mary was also known as very kind and generous person, as well as her humor. Most of all Mary loved her family and cherished her grandson. She is of the Roman Catholic Faith and a former communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was married to the late Anthony Simiele in August of 1971, he passed away August 16, 2006. Her loving family includes her son, Anthony J. Simiele and his wife Nicole of Averill Park, grandson Devin Anthony Simiele, a brother Joseph Giuliani Mary Ellen of Hagaman and a sister Virginia Ruscio of Moravia, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman. Fr. Martin DeRose will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 5 until 7 PM at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam NY 12010. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Juvenile Research Foundation or to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the funeral home office.
