Obituary of Theresa Iarusso

Mrs. Theresa Iarusso, 99 years old, of Hayes Place, died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Iarusso was born April 16, 1912, in Amsterdam, a daughter of Agnello and Domenica Mandaro D'Alessandro, and was a life long resident of Amsterdam. She had been employed by Breton Industries for many years. Mrs. Iarusso had been a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and also enjoyed horse races and gambling at casinos. Her husband, Sebastian Iarusso, died May 20, 1982. Theresa is survived by three sons: John Jeanette Iarusso of Amsterdam, Daniel Barbara Iarusso of Hagaman and Anthony Iarusso, and his companion Jeannine Farina, of Amsterdam, six grandchildren: Leslie, Laurie, Michael, John, James and Rebecca, and 10 great grandchildren: Keaton, Gianna, Kyle, Sebastian, Cardell, Carter, Natasha, Julie, Sarah and Anthony. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her brothers Ralph, Vito, Fred and Alfonso D'Alessandro and her sisters Lena Ameduri and Josephine Sampone. Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Monday at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2 until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
