Obituary of Mary V. Constantine

Mary V. Constantine, 83, formerly of Voorhees Street, passed into the arms of our Lord Monday at St. Mary's Hospital. Her family and her pastor were at her side. Born in Amsterdam on July 2, 1927, the daughter of the late Carmello and Rose Pellicotti Constantine, she was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary's Institute and in 1947 from the Amsterdam School Of Commerce. Mary then began a long career as a stenographer for the General Electric Company retiring in 1986 after forty years of service. She was very devout in her Catholic faith which sustained her during her entire life. Mary was a communicant of the parish of St. Joseph, St. Michael and Our Lady Of Mount Carmel, serving as a Eucharistic minister at the church and for the home bound. She attended mass daily and was a member of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans, Padre Pio Prayer Group and St. Anthony's Auxiliary. Her family meant the world to her and her kindness extended from them to her many friends, as she was first to offer any help she could. She will be missed. Mary leaves her brother Joseph and his wife Gilda Constantine of Amsterdam; nieces, Rosemary Constantine, Barbara Robert Borkowski, Rosemarie Bruce Morrow and Linda Mike Sawicki; nephews, Lawrence Patricia Constantine, Charles Carol Constantine, Joseph Jr. Jules Constantine, Anthony Sandra Constantine, Matthew Sr. Jenny Constantine, Christopher and Stephen Constantine; sister in law Joanne Constantine ; grandnieces and nephews, great grandnieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, brothers Frank, Paul and Anthony predeceased her. Services are Friday July 1st at 8:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to Mount Carmel Memorial Fund or St. Mary's Institute both in care of the funeral home office.
