Obituary of Florence Trumpick
Mrs. Florence Trumpick, 85 years old, formerly of De Graff Street, died Thursday at The Stanton Nursing and Rehab Centre in Glens Falls. She was born February 11, 1926 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Albert and Helen Gudzis Mikolaitis. Mrs. Trumpick graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Class of 1943, and was a graduate of the Amsterdam School of Commerce. She worked for General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 12 years before stepping out of the workforce to raise a family and ended her career with the City of Amsterdam, retiring in 1989 after 20 years of service.
Mrs. Trumpick was a Communicant of the former St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Church and the former American Lithuanian Club Auxiliary. Florence always placed family first and put others before herself. She loved shopping, traveling, reading and puzzles of any kind. Florence was supportive, caring and always had a smile for family and friends. She will be missed.
She married Edmund R. Trumpick on October 21, 1950. He died in 2006. Mrs. Trumpick is survived by her daughter Susan Trumpick of Glens Falls, her niece Barbara Weyl, her great niece Kim Steve Lubin and her nephew Robert Barbara Kensell. She was also predeceased by her son John, her infant daughter Patricia and her twin brother Floyd Mikolaitis.
Funeral services will be held 8:15 am Tuesday July 5, 2011, at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, followed at 9:15 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Foundation, P.O.
