Obituary of Robert G. Lobdell
Robert G. Lobdell, age 63, of Gloversville passed away on Thursday July 7, 2011 at his home.
He was born in Gloversville, NY on December 9, 1947 the son of the late Franklin and Marie Handy Lobdell.
Robert worked as a motor route driver for the Leader Herald for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Robert will always be known for being there whenever his family or friends needed something.
Robert is survived by three children: Bob Lobdell Laura of Broadalbin, Frank Lobdell Tammy of Gloversville, Rose Lobdell Mike of Hope, NY, 6 grandchildren: Michael, Ashley, Sara, Autumn, Ricky, Mason and one great grandson, Marcus.
Additional survivors include his companion, Ruth Baker as well as two brothers: Jule Lobdell and Terry Lobdell.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lobdell and a brother, Franklin Lobdell Jr.
Family and Friends are invited and may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday July 9, 2011 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Immediately following the conclusion of calling hours at 12 noon there will be a funeral service conducted with the Rev. Dr. R.W.Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Algonquin Cemetery in Wells, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
