Obituary of Dolores Greco
Dolores Greco, 84, of McClellan Ave., passed away peacefully into God's loving embrace on Monday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital. Her devoted son Joseph was at her side as he was on a daily basis since 2008.
Born in Amsterdam on Dec. 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Jenny Falco Navaretta. Educated locally, Dolores lived here for most of her life with the exception of ten years, when she lived in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida. It was there that she worked as a sales associate for Luria's Jewelry Store. Locally, Dolores had been employed as an office manager at the Amsterdam Printing and Litho. She had a very strong faith, and was devoted to the Blessed Mother and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church and formerly St. Michael's Church both in Amsterdam.
Dolores had a gentle, kind and loving manner which endeared her to all she met along life's way. She was a very giving and trusting woman and will truly be missed by many.
Among her survivors she leaves her beloved son Joseph R. Greco of Guilderland, her dear grandson Christopher Joseph Greco and his wife Christine, great grandson Matthew Greco all of Vacaville Ca.; dear friends Marie and Eugenia Luce as well as her loving home health aides, Darla Schram, Darlene Plunkett and Kim Surento.
Her son Joseph is grateful for the caring staff and pastoral care on Maria Hall at St. Mary's Hospital and to the nursing staff of C wing at River Ridge Care Center and Fr. Decker for giving her comfort and peace.
The Mass Of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church by Fr. Lawrence J. Decker and interment was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. There were no calling hours and memorials may be made to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam in care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave.
