Obituary of Carol L. Hanna
Mrs. Carol L. Hanna, age 70, of Mayfield, died Tuesday evening, August 9, 2011 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
She was born July 7, 1941 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Leah Tanner Hess. She was employed by the former Baronet Litho in Johnstown, McDonald's in Gloversville and at Knoll's Market in Mayfield.
Carol was a member of Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. She was also a member of the Bannertown Senior Citizens Club and its Knit Wits, the Amsterdam Dialysis Group and T.O.P.S. In the 1970's she served as treasurer for the Mayfield Cub Scouts. She enjoyed crocheting, Bingo and visits to the Racino. Most of all, she loved her pet cats and to go camping with her family.
On September 28, 1963 she was married to Elmer M. Hanna who survives and lives in Mayfield. Also surviving are: three children, Keith Hanna, Sr. Robin, Sheri Hanna Ray Cole, Jr. and Daniel Hanna, all of Gloversville; a sister, Shirley Nellis of Gloversville; a brother, Jerry Hess Meta of Elton, MD; two grandchildren, Keith Hanna, Jr. and Tiffany Hanna; a great - granddaughter, Julie Marie Hanna; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Hess.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13 at the Mayfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 432; Mayfield, NY 12117.
