Obituary of Helen A. Kuntzsch

Mrs. Helen Kuntzsch, 74, of Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY died peacefully in to the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Albany Medical Center with her devoted husband by her side. Born in Canajoharie, NY on February 4, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Steven and Laura Cardamone Marotta. A lifelong area resident, Helen attended local schools and worked as a CNA for Palatine Nursing Home and the Montgomery County Infirmary. She was a devoted parishioner of the former St. Peter's & Paul's Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. Helen also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing the organ and spending time with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and enjoyed her friendship. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Henry C. Kuntzsch; one son, Joseph M. Kuntzsch; her special daughter in law, Ceta Kuntzsch; four grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph, Michael and Kacia; one sister, Phyllis Wachunas; one brother, Joseph Marotta and his wife Angela; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10 o'clock at St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held this evening, Friday, August 12, 2011 from 5 until 7p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Helen's name.
