Obituary of Tyrone C. Rice

Tyrone Clark Rice, 68, of Gloversville, passed away after a short illness Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Mountain Valley Hospice. He was born June 21, 1943 in Newport, R.I. the son of the late John B. and Arlene A. Madden Rice. He was a graduate of Mayfield High School in 1961. He then went on the road as a musician from 1965 to 1982. From 1983 to 2005 he worked as a shipper for Somerset Industries in Gloversville. Tyrone loved all his family and friends. He enjoyed music and having all of his friends over on Friday nights at his home. He was a member of the Bleecker Fish and Game Club. Survivors include a sister, Kimberly J. Loucks of Gloversville; a brother, Douglas J. Rice of Phoenix; two nephews: Jason A. Loucks of CT and Joshua Loucks of Gloversville and aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, Tyrone was predeceased by his best friend, Sue Leo. Family and friends are invited and may call Thursday, August 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
