Obituary of Patricia Conard
Patricia Conard, 74 of Sharon Springs, NY passed away peacefully at her home on August 17, 2011 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on March 20, 1937, in East Orange, NJ, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Rose Martin.
In 1950, at the age of 13, Pat met her life partner Willis at the state 4-H dairy cattle show in Flemington, NJ. She graduated high school in Miami, FL in 1954, married Willis in 1955 and soon after, started her family. In 1969, Pat and Willis moved to Sharon Springs, NY, and established Ridgedale Farm, where they resided for the past 42 years. Pat served on the planning committee for the 1993 National Holstein Convention held in Rochester, NY, planned and hosted the first NYS Holstein Summer Picnic and also served as secretary for her local OHM Holstein Club for many years. She was employed for 20 years as a receptionist at Dr. Shelmandine's medical office in Sharon Springs, NY.
Pat is survived by her husband of 55 years, Willis S. Conard Sr. of Sharon Springs, NY; son Wayne L. Conard Jen of Sharon Springs, NY; daughter Amy R. Monk of Canajoharie, NY; six grand-children: W. Cyrus and Isaac C. Conard; Hannah D. and Rochelle R. Monk; Juli A. Conard Myers and Willis S. Conard, III; and two great grandchildren. Additional survivors include three sisters and one brother: Doreen Wible, SC; Sharon Bob Gosselin, VA; Linda Mack Summers, AZ; and Lance Beverly Martin, FL.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Willis S. Conard, Jr.
In accordance to Pat's wishes, her remains will be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Pat's memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society c/o the family at 164 Maring Road, Sharon Springs, NY 13459.
