Obituary of Ralph N. Bogardus

Ralph N. Bogardus, 101, former resident of Mayfield, passed away peacefully, August 24, 2011, at the Hillcrest Spring Residential Home after being a resident for 7 years. Born December 10, 1909 in St. Johnsville, NY, he was the son of the late Carl and Jessie Dillenbeck Bogardus. Ralph lived most of his life in Fulton and Montgomery Counties. He owned and operated the Woodland Shop in Mayfield from 1954 to 1994. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. On October 23, 1932 he married the former Ethel Rothbell who passed away January 9, 1998. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 1:30 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Jennifer Elliott officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. A calling hour will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
