Obituary of John M. Whitehouse

John M. ?Jack? Whitehouse, 79, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville. He was born February 28, 1932 in Gloversville, the son of the late Harry and Charlotte Whitehouse. A 1950 graduate of Gloversville High School, he was employed as a carpenter with Local Union #370. Jack was also a firefighter with the Gloversville Fire Department for twenty five years. Jack was married on April 19, 1950 to Dolores Cavallo, who predeceased him in 2006. Together they shared over fifty six years of marriage. Survivors include three children: Robert M. ?Kip? Whitehouse Christina, Deborah Ann Shepard Mark and Todd M. Whitehouse Angela, all of Gloversville; five grandchildren: Jedediah Whitehouse, Abbey Whitehouse, Matthew Shepard Briana, Michaelyn Shepard-Lutz Adam and Ryan Whitehouse; one great grandchild, Isabella Shepard and a brother, James Whitehouse. There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Chris Hamm presiding. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack?s memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
