Obituary of Genevieve Munch

Mrs. Genevieve Munch, 93, of Oceanside California, formerly a resident of Amsterdam, NY passed away Thursday September 1, 2011. Born on May 14, 1918 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of Walter and Karoline Lenske. Mrs. Munch retired from Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City in the late 1970's. and moved to Chula Vista, CA, with her husband Charles. She brought with her both her and Charles mothers. After the death of her husband Charles, Mrs. Munch moved to Apple Valley, CA and lived with her daughter Mitzi and her family for a time. She then moved to Oceanside, CA to be near her daughter Beverly. Nanna was known for her roses and her old world cooking recipes. She was very caring and giving to her family having cared for both her husband Charles and daughter Barbara, during each of their terminal illnesses. Mrs. Munch was preceded in death by her husband Philip Vavruick and her second husband Charles Munch. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Barbara. She leaves behind her daughters, Mitzi Osier of Apple Valley, CA, and Beverly Reierson of Oceanside, CA, and her son Steven Vavruick of New York and their families. In addition she leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday September 15, 2011 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Brian List presiding. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.
