Obituary of Mary A. Blood
Mary A. Blood, 86, a resident of Wilkinson Residential Facility, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.
Born on December 7, 1931 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Madeline Bixby Lynch. She attended Gloversville schools and was employed for several years at Conroy Gloves, Johnstown, until her retirement.
Mary enjoyed reading, cooking, crossword puzzles and loved to play cards with her sisters and visits from her dear friends at Trackside Homes, Johnstown, where she resided for more than 17 years until her illness. She especially loved it when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren stopped by.
Survivors include four children, Gordon W. Frye, Jr. (Jennifer), Jerry E. Frye (Susan), Sherri L. Chamberlain (Ken) and Ronald E. Blood (Colleen); three sisters, Anna Groves, Jane Sweet and Florence Hogiapan; a brother, Edward Watson; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Lester W. Blood in 1996; stepson, Gary W. Blood; sisters, Betty Davis and Doris Paul; and brothers, Thomas, James and Jack Lynch.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Prayer Service will follow at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating.
