Obituary of Elaine I. Cook

Elaine I. Cook, 74, of Marshville Road, died peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Nelliston, NY on May 9, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Stanton and Zelda VanDusen Hudson. A lifelong area resident, Elaine attended local schools and was a worker all of her life. She along with her family owned and operated Zelson Farms until their retirement. Elaine was a member of the Canajoharie- Fort Plain BPOE #2621. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her three children, Teresa (Marty Andrews) Fisher, Karen (Mark) Shibley and Mark Tompson; her siblings, Roger (Janet) Hudson, Wayne (Beverly) Hudson, Sandy Green and Bonnie (Ron Smith) Hudson; five grandchildren, Christa (Justin) Whiteman, Branson Logan, Jaxen, Ryker and Ryatt Tompson; one great granddaughter, Harper Whiteman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Jack Green. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, March 7, 2017 at 4p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie. A gathering for family and friends will take place prior to the service beginning at 2p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date on the family plot in the Freysbush Cemetery.
