Obituary of Margaret A. Altieri

Mrs. Margaret A. Altieri, 74, of Henrietta Street, Amsterdam died suddenly on Monday, March 5, 2018 following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam on April 9, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Laura Marsh Bramer. A lifelong city resident, Margaret graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She later attended Austin Beauty School and was employed as a beautician for a few years. Margaret then went on to work for New York State Department of Treasury until her retirement. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Norman F. Altieri; one son, David Altieri; a step daughter Kathleen Flanigan and her husband Douglas; two grandchildren Karlin and Amber; and two great grandchildren Owen and Emma. A private graveside service will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, New York, 12010.
