Obituary of Douglas L. Wilson

Mr. Douglas L. Wilson, 85, of Gloversville, NY died peacefully on March 17, 2018 at Nathan Littauer Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Northville, NY on June 3, 1932 he was the son of the late Floyd and Minnie Rose Wilson. A lifelong area resident, Doug attended local schools. He was employed as a laborer all of his life and was a hard worker who provided for his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed nature. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Carol Foster Wilson; ten children, Douglas (Lindsay) Wilson, Gordon Wilson, Mary (Ray) Wilson, Debbie Sweet, Charlie Wilson, Jamie Wilson, Dan (Cherice) Wilson, Tammy Wilson, John (Linda) Wilson, Don Wilson; his siblings, Martha Crowter, Bernice Clark, Ruth Schrader, Rita Vanvery, Pearl Shannon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug was predeceased by his brothers, Colie, George and Glen Wilson. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 6p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 4p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A private burial service will take place at a later date in the Mayfield Cemetery.
