While I never knew Mrs. Ellis I couldn't help but notice the name McWalker in the obituary and wondered if she was any relation to Marilyn McWalker with whom I worked at the telephone company 1969-1970. Then I saw her mentioned by name so wanted to send my condolences to Marilyn. She is indeed a special person and I never forgot her joyful disposition. I will continue to keep you, Marilyn, and Mrs Ellis in my prayers. Take care and God bless you. Sr Clare Stephen (Kralovic)

Dear Tom, Gene and the Ellis Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. May you be comforted by your memories.
We are thankful to have been a part of Grandma Gen's life. Sol's memory of Geneive is that of a woman who cared deeply for others and always had a smile on her face.
I remember many fun times together in New Mexico. We enjoyed playing cards -Pitch, Rummy and Pinochle. She was my partner in all the games and we were well matched. Linda and Tom didn't have a chance! We also enjoyed camping together and shared a tent as we travelled and toured various places in NM. Grandma Gen was cheerful and treated me with such respect. I always felt like a grown up in her presence. I was just fifteen at the time and in later years, anytime that I would see Grandma Gen at family gatherings, we would reminisce about our fun times together!
May her memory be a blessing!
Sol and Pam

I believe I knew Harriet as a young boy in Gloversville (if she ever did weekly house cleanings throughout the city). My parents had her clean our house weekly. Her and I used to kid each other about having the same last name, yet we were so different - a BLACK lady and a young WHITE boy. She was a loving, caring lady and I wish my prayers and condolences at this difficult time. Love to the family, Bob Ellis (northern California)

THE LADY OF SHALOTT (Abridged)
On either side the river lie
Long fields of barley and of rye,
That clothe the wold and meet the sky;
And through the field the road runs by
To many-towered Camelot;
And up and down the people go,
Gazing where the lilies blow
Round an island there below,
The Island of Shalott.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There she weaves by night and day
A magic web with colours gay.
She has heard a whisper say,
A curse is on her if she stay
To look down to Camelot.
She knows not what the curse may be,
And so she weaveth steadily,
And little other care hath she,
The Lady of Shalott.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She left the web, she left the loom,
She made three paces through the room,
She saw the water-lily bloom,
She saw the helmet and the plume,
She looked down to Camelot.
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror cracked from side to side;
"The curse is come upon me," cried
The Lady of Shalott.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who is this? and what is here?
And in the lighted palace near
Died the sound of royal cheer;
And they crossed themselves for fear,
All the knights at Camelot:
But Lancelot mused a little space;
He said, "She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace,
The Lady of Shalott."
Alfred Lord Tenneyson
To friends and family of Mrs Geneive Harris:
Everyday I read an obituary in the newspaper to honor those who have passed on. Today I read Mrs. Ellis', chosen for the picture of her sweet face. I read with great interest about her thoughtful, well lived life.
I want to extend my condolences to her friends, family and everyone who loved Mrs Geneive.
I know this is a difficult time for you. I pray that the wonderful memories you have of her will ease your grief.
May God continue to bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand.
With much sympathy,
Willow Jean
