Obituary of Jeannette Kretser

Jeannette Kretser, age 76, of Ephratah, died Friday morning, January 12, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. She was born November 25, 1941 in Johnstown, the youngest daughter of William Sr. and Sophia (Valachovic) Laird. A graduate of Johnstown High School, she worked in the office of Milligan and Higgins in Johnstown for 29 years. Jeannette enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, quilting and being surrounded by her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Roger Kretser of Ephratah; three children, Bruce (Pauline) Kretser of Fort Plain, Sherry Carriola of Hagaman and Brenda Pasquariello of Johnstown; three siblings, Virginia Sackett, Richard Laird and Carl Laird; four grandchildren, Stanton (Jessica) Weaver, Kyle Pasquariello, Tyler A. Kretser and Bryce Kretser and a great-granddaughter, Cherry Mae Weaver. Jeannette was predeceased by her parents and four siblings, William Laird, Cecile Hurley, Donald Laird and Arlene Lansing. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 5pm Friday, January 19, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 5pm with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
