Obituary of Damon R. Stewart

Damon R. Stewart, Sr; 61, passed away on January 15, 2018 at home with the love of his life by his side. Born in Gloversville, NY, Damon spent most of his life in Pine Lake, NY. His employment was in the leather industry for many years but most recently Walmart Distribution Center, retiring in 2017. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Betty Hranitz. Also, son Damon Stewart, Jr. (Ashley), daughter Jamie Stewart, special granddaughter Eliana, and Monica Loux who held a special place in his heart. A sister Deborah Mongato (Joseph) and a brother Daryl Stewart, parents Richard Earl (Rose) Stewart and Alice Lowell, and aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins. Damon was his happiest when he was hunting or fishing. He loved any outdoor adventure and had many stories to tell. He was a true outdoorsman. He was always quick to lend a helping hand and if an opportunity arose, to pull a prank. The twinkle in his eyes will be deeply missed by many. In keeping with Damon's wishes, there will not be any services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave; Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the charity of your choice
