Obituary of Timothy A. Blackwood

Timothy A. Blackwood, age 60, of Johnstown, NY passed away on June 13, 2024.  He was born April 16, 1964 to the late Lester A. Blackwood Sr. and Erma (Shelmandine) Blackwood.

 

He was a 1982 graduate of Johnstown High School. He spent many years working for NAPA Auto Parts in Johnstown and was employed by Mohawk Leather in Fultonville, NY at the time of his passing.

 

Tim will be remembered as the uncle that all the kids flocked to (no matter how cold it was on New Year’s Eve, he could be found outside throwing the football with his nephews), the funny one, the good hearted one, a hunting and fishing buddy to his brothers and nephews, and an animal lover.

 

He was predeceased by both his parents, brother Keith Blackwood, brother Christopher Blackwood, and sister in law Kelly Blackwood. Survived by siblings Lester (Ann) Blackwood, Duane Blackwood, Randy (Carol) Blackwood, William (Star) Blackwood, Wendy (Mike) Suchy, David (Diane) Blackwood as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his cherished Roxie.

 

A celebration of his life will be held on July 14 @1 pm at the Gloversville Moose, 140 East State Street, Gloversville, NY.

 

As an organ donor, Tim’s legacy will not only live in the hearts of his family and friends but also in the lives of strangers that will be forever changed.

 

Memorial contributions can be made in Tim’s name to James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society in Gloversville, NY or the charity of one’s choice.
