Obituary of Linda S. Howland
Mrs. Linda Sue Howland, 80 of Trackside Apartments Johnstown passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 5th at her home. Born April 29, 1944, in Gloversville, the daughter of Ila Jean (Graff) Querbes and Robert Arthur Klock, Linda was a lifelong area resident. After graduation from Gloversville High School in 1962, Linda began a career of many years as shipping room supervisor at St. Thomas leather in Gloversville until the company closed. She also worked part time for over 20 years at Lexington Center in family services while also as a home health aide for Community Health Center until her retirement.
Linda was predeceased by her parents as well as husband Larry R. Howland in 2005 after celebrating over 40 years of their vows of June 27, 1964. She was also predeceased by her brother Dale Klock in 2021 and brother-in-law Bruce Howland in 2011.
Survivors include a son, Tracy Howland of Johnstown; a daughter, Valerie Wilson (Randy Gardinier) of Fonda; sister Charlene Milnekiewicz (Robert) of Fly Creek; grandchildren Andrew Wilson and Adam Wilson, both of Johnstown as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda was a long-time member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville where she would volunteer her time and will be remembered for her strength and humor as well as a love of life, friends and family especially her grandchildren who she adored. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her close friends who she enjoyed outings with.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Main Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville, American Heart Association or the James A. Brennan Humane Society in Gloversville.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6pm Tuesday, June 11th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 6pm with the Rev. Joyce Royal officiating.
Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
