Obituary of Nina M. Kupciunas
Nina Marie Kupciunas, 80, of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Nina was born on September 29, 1943 in Springville, New York to the late Wayne and Elna (Nason) Wiedemann.
Nina worked at the Coleco factory in Amsterdam for many years, until its closing. After Coleco, she went on to work at the Hannaford Supermarket in Gloversville until her retirement.
Throughout the years, Nina bowled in various local leagues. She served as the Secretary for the Sunday Misfits league for many years alongside her friend Terry, who served as Treasurer. Nina was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1982. She enjoyed attending local BINGO games with her daughters, and visiting casinos whenever she had the chance.
Above all else, Nina’s life was devoted to her family. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She leaves behind these words to be remembered by: “Just think of me with a smile, because you gave me many.”
Her loving family includes her daughters, Christine Rulison, Deborah (Steve) Lobdell-Cook, Lisa Lobdell, and Jacqueline (Howard) Becker; her grandchildren, Randy Jr., Rachel, Shaun, Nicole, Jason, Billie, Wayne, Mathew, Andrew, Tiffany, Samantha, and Brandon; her siblings, Bonnie Van Ocker, David (Jeanne) Wiedemann, Wayne George (Colleen) Wiedemann, Gordon Wiedemann, Paul (Jean) Wiedemann, Mark (Maria) Wiedemann, Jeanette (Carl) Bills, Darlene Gardner, Donna (Fred) Desrichers, Sandi (Ronny) Oathout, and Mary (Rich) Eagan; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Aside from her parents, Wayne and Elna, Nina is also preceded in passing by her son, Randy Rulison, and by her siblings, Ted Wiedemann, Duane Wiedemann, Marjorie Conine, Walt Rulison, Fred Rulison, Jack Rulison, Cheryl Schweichert, and Sally Brower.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3:00PM with the Rev. Kathy Reese presiding, and a continued time of fellowship will follow services at Jackie's house. A private interment service will be held at the convenience of the family in Ferndale cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Nina’s memory to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org.
