Obituary of Johanna Dausacker
Johanna Dausacker, 90, of Mayfield, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024, at Mountain Valley Hospice. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Johanna was born in Pasicevo, Yugoslavia, on January 14, 1934, to the late Christian and Katharine (Roth) Hartmann.
On November 16, 1969, Johanna was united in marriage to Walter Dausacker. The couple shared 28 wonderful years together, before his passing on January 15, 1998.
As a young woman, Johanna and her parents moved from Yugoslavia to West Germany. In time, Johanna was employed at the Ritter Sport chocolate factory in Waldenbuch. She and her parents came to the United States in 1952, settling in New York City.
Johanna learned English by attending night school, and she worked as a looper in a knitting mill. As a single woman, she enjoyed traveling to Europe and South America. It was on a trip to South America where she got acquainted with her future husband. After marriage, Johanna was a homemaker and loved gardening. She was a member of the Johnstown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was active in her faith since 1949.
Her loving family includes her children, Paul Dausacker of Saratoga Springs and Katherine (Andrew) Crankshaw of Mayfield.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 126 South Kingsboro Ave, Gloversville. Following this, a private interment will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with Walter. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.
