Obituary of Alvin D. Neahr

Alvin D. Neahr, 80, of Amsterdam, New York passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. Alvin was born on July 15, 1943 to the late Alvin and Lavina (Rose) Neahr in Schenectady, New York.

Alvin moved to the Amsterdam area in 1971, and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. He spent many years working in the local area in Utilities and Maintenance for several local businesses, including Bojud Knitting Mills, K-Mart, and Hannaford.

Alvin is survived by his step-daughter, Charlotte Birch. Aside from his parents, Alvin and Lavina, Alvin is also preceded in passing by his wife, Charlotte Neahr.

A graveside service will be held in Alvin's memory on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 1:00PM at Park View Cemetery, 40 Fehr Ave., Schenectady, NY 12309, where he will be laid to rest with his parents. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
