Obituary of Anna LaVoie

Anna J. “Peggy” LaVoie passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, at Albany Medical Center.

Peggy was born in Fonda on March 6, 1944, to the late Jermone and Mary (Zazzaro) Luciano.

Peggy was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a proud homemaker; passionate about her family, cooking, and gardening. 

Her beautiful life will be remembered by beloved daughters, Liza LaVoie and Leann Simek (Eric); grandchildren, Mary Grace Bates (Justin), Peter Piazza (Nicole), Carmelo Piazza Jr, Kelsey Barkley (Zach Carneglia), Ethan Barkley (Sydnee King), Eric Simek Jr. (Ashley) and Brenden Simek (Isabella); great grandchildren, Alexander, Carmen, Gracelyn, Blake, Connor, and Aurora; as well as sister in laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Anna is predeceased by her husband, Jacques LaVoie, who passed on December 30, 2012; brother, John Luciano who passed on November 30, 2002, and grandson, Noah Barkley who passed on November 30, 2000.

Funeral services for Peggy will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 1pm with Rev. Kathy Reese presiding, where calling hours will be held prior beginning at 11am at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home. Private burial will take place at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Fonda.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1232 St. Hwy. 5s, Amsterdam, NY, 12010.
