Obituary of Cora Sue Engle

Cora Engle, 58, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, at Ellis Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Cora was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam, with the exception of a year when she lived in Tucson, Arizona.

She was a hard worker her entire life. Cora was a cook at Windsor and at numerous factories until she retired at an early age from Amsterdam Print due to her health.

Cora was the daughter of Walter and Mattie Green. She had several siblings, Mary Becker, Walter Green Jr, Ruth Johnson, Anthony Green, Robert Green, Emily Neahr, John Green, Lillian Kruger and Carl Green.

Cora was a dedicated, loving and supportive mother to her children, Alicia (John) Hudgins, Brandy (Chelsea) Snyder, Patricia (Mark) DiScenza and Andraiah (Johnny) Bleyl. She was also a devoted wife to her husband, Scott Engle, for almost 24 years.

Anyone who knew Cora, knew that her grandchildren were her everything, she leaves behind several grandchildren: Michelle, EmmaLynne, Wade, Skyler, Aiden, Kayden, John Jr, Lily and Charlene. She was also an aunt to several nieces and nephews. Cora was predeceased by her parents; grandson, Skyler; siblings, Mary, Walter and John.

Cora was a woman who loved her family unconditionally and was there for everyone. Over the last 12 years she showed everyone around her just how strong she could be. She fought a debilitating disease and was a woman of surprise; when others counted her out, she showed them just how strong she could be.

Cora’s wish was to not have any services. A private gathering will be held at the family’s discretions.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all her doctors and specialists who cared for her throughout the last 12 years.

Cora’s care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
