Obituary of Virginia R. Wood

Mrs. Virginia R. Wood, age 96, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 11, 2024, at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown.

She was born July 6, 1927, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Frederick and Helen (Reardon) Wheaton.

Virginia is survived by a daughter, Claudette Dillenbeck; a daughter-in-law, Diane Wood; two sisters, Evelyn Jendrzejczak and Eileen Person; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Claude Wood; a son, Bruce Wood; a granddaughter, Kelly Lee Bornt; three brothers, William Wheaton, John Wheaton, and Robert Wheaton; three sisters, Helen Bridger, Mary Peters and Kathleen Porcello; and a son-in-law, Jeff Dillenbeck.

Interment will take place in the spring at King Cemetery, Northampton.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice.
