Obituary of Willard R. Bishop Sr.

Willard R. "Bill" Bishop, Sr., age 86, of Gloversville, died February 3, 2024, at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown.

He was born April 12, 1937, in Perth, NY, the son of Robert and Minnie (Hemstreet) Bishop. He served in the US Navy and was later employed as an electrician by Davin Electric for many years. He later worked for the Town of Caroga Highway Dept. until becoming disabled. He was a member of the Caroga Fish and Game Club and was past president of the Perth Fire Dept. When living in the Tampa Bay, Florida area, he enjoyed spending time on his 42' Grouper fishing boat.

Bill is survived by a son, Willard R. "Bill" Bishop Jr; a sister, Sharon Black; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Helen B. (Andrews) Bishop; a sister, Frances Tessiero; a brother, Gene Bishop; and a beloved brother-in-law, Corley "Corky" Andrews.

It was Bill's wish that there be no services.
