Obituary of Arthur F. Morrison Jr.

Arthur F. Morrison, Jr; age 74, of Mayfield, passed away Thursday morning, January 25, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.

He was born September 17, 1949, in Gloversville, the son of Arthur and Grace (McGuire)Morrison. He was a 1968 graduate of Gloversville High and later worked at Mohawk Cabinet, Gloversville. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He then was employed by the Gloversville Department of Public Works for 34 years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was member of White Tails Unlimited. Art was a member of the former Gloversville American Legion Post, where he was a baseball team coach. He also bowled in the former Sunset Bowling League for many years.

Art is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan (Smith) Morrison; two daughters, Stephanie and Gordon Barrett and Melissa and Johnpaul Mehan; as well as his angel granddaughter, Sophia Mehan.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday, January 30th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.

Interment with Military Honors will take place 10 am Saturday, April 27th at Mayfield Cemetery.
