Obituary of Doris A. Carvill

Doris A. Carvill, age 91, of North Port, Florida, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville.

She was born August 17, 1932, in Herkimer, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Przybylski) Haponski.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Linda Sullivan (Robert) and Wendy Shafer (Michael); five grandchildren, Stephanie Bugaj (Ben Melita), Melanie Salvione (Louis), Amy Batty (Mark), Lori Reichel (Scott) and Lisa Gennett (Steve); eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Hailey, Marissa, Andrew, Matthew, Alexandra, Olivia and Mikey; a great-great-granddaughter, Briell; two sisters, Joan Grasso and Jacqueline Mead; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Carvill; as well as many sisters and brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday, January 20th at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.
