Obituary of Robert W. Langdon
Fonda - Robert W. Langdon, 100 years old, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, at E.L. Wilkinson Health Care.
Born on September 30, 1923, in Norris Arm, Newfoundland, son of the late Archibald and Martha Louise (Pope) Langdon.
Robert started work at a young age with Cooks Logging Camp in Deer Lake, Newfoundland before coming to the U.S. in 1943 to work on farms during WWII. He then went on to work for many years at White Mop Wringler Company in Fultonville, retiring in 1990. Robert proudly became a U.S. citizen on May 19, 1952.
Robert was a loving father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who will be greatly missed by all.
Survived by his loving children whom he was so proud of, Linda Galpin, Robert N. (Nancy) Langdon, Kathleen (Clayton) Carpenter, Carol Langdon, Joyce Langdon, James Langdon (Nancy Gray); Brother, Carl of Newfoundland; daughter in law, Nancy Langdon (late David Langdon); grandchildren, Susan Armer, Robert Langdon, Brian Langdon, Ashlee (Sean) Bryant, Brooke Carpenter, Erin (Brian) Baulsir, Amy (Chris) Clancy, Joseph (Laura) Colone, Adam (Sarah) Colone, Nathanial (Heidi) Langdon, Jeremy Langdon, Tracie (Brian) Novak and Matthew Langdon; great-grandchildren, Caylie, Ryley, Gene, Madeline, Liam, Anthony, Sophia, Lucia, Josie, Jacob, Harmony, Nicholas, Nathan, Clayton, June and Grayson.
Robert was predeceased by his late wives, Marjorie Jean Gillis, Elizabeth Van Scoy Langdon and Ruth Preston Langdon; six brothers and seven sisters all from Newfoundland.
Service for Robert will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11 am with Rev. Linda Gold presiding, a calling hour will be held prior beginning at 10 am at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
Robert's family would like to thank the entire staff at both Pineview Commons and Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility for the excellent care that Bert received while in their care. They also appreciate the support that the staff provided to the family during this time.
