Obituary of Maria G. Gatto

Amsterdam - Maria "Jenny" Giovanna Gatto, 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the E.L.. Wilkinson Residential Health Care.

Born on August 17, 1949, in Celle Di Bulgheria, Italy, a daughter of the late Francesco and Rosina (DeAngelis) Guida.

Maria met and married her late husband, Daniel Gatto, while living in Italy, it wasn't until 1975 that both Daniel and Maria moved to the area. Maria was able to be a homemaker and raise their son, Frank.

Maria is survived by her son, Frank (Holly) Gatto; grandchildren, Daniel and Anja Gatto and her sister, Anna who still resides in Italy. Besides her parents, Maria was predeceased by her brothers, Giovanni, and Nicola Guida.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11am with the Very Reverend O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. officiating with a calling hour being held prior starting at 10am at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
