Obituary of Harriet A. Acquilla

Harriet A. Acquilla, 85, of Johnstown, died Thursday, November 2, 2023, at her home.

She was born August 13, 1938, in Schenectady, the daughter of Roy and Anna (Demarest) Peugh. She was employed at Lee Dye, as a bookkeeper at the former Coca Cola Company, at Beacon Wholesale, and was also a self-employed retailer. She enjoyed hunting, ice racing, attending horse races, playing in pool leagues, music, and dancing. She was interested and involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Harriet is survived by her loving companion of over 20 years, George Hinds; a daughter, Robin Curtin of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Adam Curtin (Rita), Daniel Curtin (fiancé Catherine Manalang), Christopher Curtin, Jeffrey Curtin (Meghan), Shanna Medina (Joshua) and Samantha Iannotti, four great grandchildren, Dain Curtin, Topher Curtin, Martha Medina and Olivia Medina; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Scott Iannotti; and siblings, Roy Peugh Sr; Helen Cramer and Carl Peugh.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm Monday, November 6th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.

A graveside service will take place at 10 am Tuesday at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
