Obituary of Robert Sauval

Robert Sauval, 88, of Amsterdam , passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare..

He was born in Amsterdam on  February 15, 1935, a son of the late Andre and Gertrude Majewski Sauval.  He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools.  He was a US Army Veteran serving from 1956 to 1963.

Robert was employed for the former Mohawk Finishing Products Co. in Amsterdam for many years. He enjoyed going to casinos, watching baseball and football.

He is survived by his longtime companion of 55 years Verna Mancini of Amsterdam, along with her children and grandchildren.   

All are invited to a Graveside Funeral Service to be held on Friday September 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Steadwell Ave, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding.  Military honors will be rendered at that time also.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger and Stewart Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.  Memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.   Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
