Dear Carl,
Where do I start? There are so many things I admire about you. You were the kindest and gentlest person I have ever known. I have so many fond memories of you playing your guitar, singing your favorite songs, and of course my personal favorite "The Tennessee Waltz." You gave your best in everything you did. You loved to work with your hands and it showed in the beautiful mantlepiece fireplaces you created. You loved your family, and we all loved you. You could make us smile and we had such enjoyment when you would come to our home and play the guitar for our friends who looked forward to those visits with anticipation. You were also a proud WWll veteran and would often tell us about those days that would often bring a lump to my throat as you relived those times. Thank you for being the best father-in-law anyone could ask for. Thank you for being you. I hope the angels appreciate the songs you sing as you strum your guitar for them. I will always and forever hold you dear to my heart.
