Obituary of Kathy A. Shang

Kathy A. Shang, 67, of Broadalbin, New York passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023. Kathy was born on August 3, 1956 to the late Eugene and Jean (Walkanowski) Kolacki. 

Kathy enjoyed spending her time working outdoors, and was known as a “Jack of all trades” as there was no project she couldn’t tackle. She was a lover of all animals and had a particular soft spot for rescue dogs. Kathy also enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts, traveling, watching horse races and visiting casinos. She was always up for a free room and a free buffet!  Above all, Kathy always enjoyed her time spent playing poker with her family. 

Surviving family members include her son, Justin Shang, and her sisters, Gloria Fazzone, Carolyn Hammond, and Karen Neander, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, 51 N. Pawling Street, Hagaman, New York 12086. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered following the calling period at 11:00AM with the The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Burial will follow Mass in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 788, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
