Obituary of Robert A. Jenks, Sr.

Mr. Robert A. Jenks, Sr. formerly of Fort Plain, NY passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 following a brief illness.  Born in Springfield, MA on February 7, 1946 he was the son of the late Elbert L. “Bud” Jenks, Sr. and Eleanore Lamoureux Jenks.

Bob was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1965.  He served proudly with the United States Marine Corp. from 1965 -1968, and continued his service with the Army Reserve.

On December 27, 1969 he married the love of his life, Ann Lolio Jenks, whom he met while working at Mohawk Data Services in Herkimer.  Bob later went to work for LaSalle Labs and later the Fort Plain School District, where he retired from.  Bob was also a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office part time.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob was predeceased by his brother, Elbert L. “Lee” Jenks in 2019 and his nephew, Tommy Jenks in 2021.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; children, Rob Jenks Jr. and his wife Darcie, and Donata Oldick and her husband Joel; three grandchildren, Gregory Costello, Gabriella Jenks and Emma Oldick; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11a.m. at the Fort Plain Cemetery, with military honors.  Following the service, A Celebration of Life will take place at the Canajoharie- Fort Plain Elks Lodge. All are invited to attend.
