Obituary of David William Miles Sr.

David William Miles Sr., 68, of Amsterdam, New York, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. David was born on January 23, 1955 to the late Harry J. Sr. and Elsie Louise (Plain) Miles.

Throughout his life, David was a collector and builder of vintage model cars, especially red 1955 Chevys. He also loved to spend time landscaping, listening to music, and watching the San Francisco 49ers. He always enjoyed sharing a meal with his family, his favorite foods being his sister JoAnn’s coleslaw, baked mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes with corn.

His loving family includes his son, David Miles Jr; his siblings, JoAnn Antoniadis, Rose Takacs, Harry “Scrapper” Miles Jr., Gary Miles, Brian Miles, Karen Miles, Julia Miles, and his baby sister. Beth Valentin-Miles, who knew him as “Bubby”; his best friend, Pat; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Aside from his parents, Harry and Elsie, David is also preceded in passing by his brothers, Mark and Ronald “Bonch” Miles.

Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
