Obituary of Rosalie E. Lansing

Rosalie E. Lansing, 102, a life-long resident of Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023 at Mountain Valley Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Rosalie was born on November 20, 1920 to the late Frank and Leah (Higgs) Keyser.  

Rosalie was united in marriage to Herbert Charles Lansing of Amsterdam in 1938. Sadly, that union lasted only 6 years until his passing in 1944.   

Throughout her life Rosalie held many jobs throughout the community. She took the most pride in her role as “Grandma.” She always made sure she was available to babysit her grandchildren.  

Rosalie is survived by her daughters, Barbara West, Patricia Edwards, and Dyhan Posluszny; daughter-in-law, Donna Lansing; her grandchildren, Chuck, Rich, Jim, Stan Jr., Deborah, Christine, Herbert, and Dianna; her 13 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren; her sister, Cleo Andalina; as well as several nieces and nephews.  

Aside from her parents Frank and Leah, and her husband Herbert, Rosalie is also preceded in passing by her son, Herbert Charles Lansing Jr.; as well as by her siblings, Earl Keyser, Dorothy McGuigan, and Betty Tybor.  

Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Kathy Reese presiding. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with Herbert. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the Montgomery County Office for the Aging, 135 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York 12010.
