Obituary of Concetta Simonds
Concetta “Connie” Simonds (formerly Concetta Cirillo) passed away on August 4, 2023, at the age of 94 in comfort surrounded by family under the care of Mountain Valley Hospice.
She was born March 4th, 1929, in Gloversville, N.Y., the daughter of Rose Mezza and Peter Cirillo. She spent her life in Gloversville where she met her husband, Arthur Simonds. They spent over 40 years together having raised six children. She worked for Taylor Awning for over twenty years and then MCA Records for twenty-five years, retiring in 1995 at the age of 71.
She and her husband enjoyed boating and camping in the Great Sacandaga Lake area as well as dancing and playing cards. In her retirement years, she enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center and spending time with her children and friends.
She is survived by her three Daughters, Carolyn Siarkowski (A.J.), Deborah Doskow (Jason), Donna Simonds, two sons, Arthur Simonds, Jr., Peter Simonds (Beth), eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and three special nieces, Loretta, Sandy, and Nancy. She was pre-deceased by husband, Arthur Simonds, and son, Harold Riley Simonds, three brothers, Frank, Joseph, and Peter Cirillo, and sister Patricia Bender.
The family sends special thanks to the staff of Pine View Commons where she spent the last six years, Nathan Littauer Hospital, and Mountain Valley Hospice for their loving care in her final days.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 5 pm Tuesday, August 8th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.
