Obituary of Louise E. Turner

Louise E. Turner, 64, of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023 at Albany Medical Center, with her family by her side. Louise was born on December 8, 1958 in Amsterdam. 

Louise worked at Coleco Industries in Amsterdam for many years, until its closing. After the factory’s closing, Louise earned her CNA certificate, and went on to work at Well’s Nursing Home in Johnstown until her retirement. 

On June 26, 1977 she was united in marriage to David Turner of Amsterdam. The couple shared nearly 32 years together, until his passing on June 9, 2009. 

Louise enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, collecting gnomes and lighthouses, spending time in nature, and horses. 

Her loving family includes her daughter, Tanya (John Kent) Naple; her grandchildren, Michael Naple, Christina Naple, James Naple, and Benjamin Cole; her 5 great-grandchildren; her siblings, William (Betty) Hartig Sr. and Cathy (Mark) Hartig-Morey; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Aside from her husband David, Louise is also preceded in passing by her mother, Helena Hartig. 

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 4 o’clock until 7 o’clock in the evening at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Noon in the Fairview Cemetery, Steadwell Avenue, Amsterdam.
