Obituary of Viola G. Folsom

Viola G. Folsom, age 99, of Johnstown, formerly of Vail Mills, passed away Friday morning, July 14, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam.

She was born April 15, 1924, in Patten, Maine, the daughter of Howard and Gertrude (Hayes) Stubbs. She was a long-time employee of Stanadyne Manufacturing in Windsor, CT. She was an avid crocheter, gardener and baker and loved to spend time with her family, whom she adored. 

Viola is survived by a daughter, Helena R. Chaussee; grandchildren, Debora Ambrosino (Michael), Alan Chaussee (Bernie), William Chaussee, Edward Donnarumma (Jen) and Laurie VanDuyne (Rick); a half-sister, Sandra Homer; several great-grandchildren, including Jamie Sena and Cassandra Bayes (Bruce); several great-great-grandchildren, including Jayden Torres; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased a daughter, Caroline H. Walker; as well as all of her 12 siblings.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, July 24th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Memorial Service will follow at 1 pm with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating.
