Obituary of Norman Donald Hayes

Norman Donald Hayes, age 85, of Gloversville, died Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his home.

He was born September 11, 1937, in Gloversville, the son of Donald and Nora (Mortimer) Hayes. A 1955 graduate of Mayfield Central School, he served in the US Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. Norman owned and operated Norm's Auto Body for many years. He loved to read books about airplanes.

Norm is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Nancy J. (Bechard) Hayes, who he married August 4, 1962; four sons, Richard Hayes (Sadie) of Griffton, NC, Michael Hayes of Asheboro, NC, Kenneth Hayes of San Diego, Ca, and Jason Hayes (Joey) of Meco, NY; and a niece.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John Hayes.

A private Military Service will take place at the convenience of the family at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
