Obituary of Louis M. Mack
Louis M. Mack, 62, of Amsterdam passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at St Mary’s Hospital.
He was born on August 12, 1960, to John W. Mack and Anita Nadler Mack of Amsterdam.
A lifelong area resident, Louis attended Wilbur H. Lynch High School, graduating in 1978. He was immediately employed by Wood & Hyde in Hagaman, Louis was employed there until the company closed in 1998. He was then employed in manufacturing and eventually became Supervisor for Breton Industries where he worked until he retired.
Louis was a devout Catholic and dedicated parishioner of St Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church where he served as Mass Coordinator, Custodian, and Usher. He loved spending time at St Stephen’s and enjoyed being a devoted parishioner, and servant to his parish community. In his spare time, Louis enjoyed being outdoors, especially while hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was also a proud Eagles and Mets fan.
Louis is survived by Dorothy Plunz of Amsterdam; daughter Jennifer (Christopher) Miller of Amsterdam; sisters Lorraine Pope of Hagaman, Anita Przywara of Saratoga Springs, Anna (Joseph) Rogoski of Hagaman, and sister-in-law Karen Mack of Amsterdam, uncle Francis (Betty) Nadler, grandchildren Christopher, Matthew, Joshua, and Emily Miller; as well as his best friends Steve Nichols and Gary Fariello; and his beloved beagle pup Molly. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; brother John S. Mack; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church 51 N Pawling St, Hagaman, NY 12086 with the Rev. Martin Kordell, CRL officiating. Following Mass, Louis will be laid to rest at St John’s Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
